Specialty Contact Lenses

Not every eye can achieve optimal vision and comfort with standard contact lenses. Specialty contact lenses are designed to provide customized solutions for patients with unique eye conditions, complex prescriptions, or specific visual needs.

At Inspire Vision Development Centre, we offer specialty contact lens fittings for patients in Orangeville, Brampton, Caledon, and surrounding communities. Using advanced technology and detailed measurements, we create customized lens solutions designed to maximize comfort, vision, and long-term eye health.

Specialty Contact Lenses at Inspire Vision Development Centre

At Inspire Vision Development Centre, we offer specialty contact lenses designed to provide clear, comfortable vision for patients with unique visual needs or eye conditions.

We offer a variety of specialty contact lens options, including:

  • Orthokeratology (Ortho-K)
  • Scleral lenses
  • Custom contact lens fittings for complex prescriptions

Orthokeratology (Ortho-K)

What are Ortho-K Lenses?
Ortho-K (short for Orthokeratology) is a safe, non-surgical vision correction method that uses specially designed hard contact lenses worn overnight to reshape the cornea so you can see clearly during the day without glasses or contacts. The effect is temporary, so you need to wear the lenses every night. However, if you would like to temporarily switch back to glasses, you would discontinue wearing the contact lenses and restart them when it feels needed.

Ortho-K corrects Nearsightedness (Myopia), Mild Astigmatism, and Mild Farsightedness (Hyperopia)

How Ortho-K Works:

  • Wear Ortho-K while sleeping
  • The lenses gently reshape the cornea (front surface of the eye)
  • Remove the lenses in the morning
  • Your vision stays clear throughout the day

Ortho-K is especially popular for children and younger adults to slow myopia progression, as well as adults who do not want daytime lenses or surgery.

Benefits of Ortho-K:

  • Benefits of Orthokeratology may include:
  • No glasses/contacts during the day
  • Reversible (stop wearing → cornea returns to normal)
  • Non-surgical alternative to LASIK
  • May help slow myopia progression in children

Ortho-K Fees
Ortho-K fees include a $750 fitting fee and $1,200 for the custom lenses in the first year.

If you are not satisfied with the lenses within the first 90 days, the lens portion of the treatment cost will be refunded.

In year two, the fitting fee is reduced by 50% for routine refitting. A full fitting fee applies if a complete refit is required due to significant prescription or eye changes.
